Maxell GENpro Disaster Recovery System Provides Total System Recovery To Point-In-Time With Bare Metal Restore
GENpro Disaster Recovery System Provides Up To 2TB Capacity, Saving Operating Systems, Programs, Registry and More
Maxell Corporation of America announces its GENpro Disaster Recovery System – an external hard drive available with storage capacities ranging from 250GB to 2TB – offers a complete Bare Metal Restore (BMR) to a point-in-time. The GENpro system serves as a continuous PC backup and drive failure solution, thanks to seamless drive management capabilities that ensure total file backup without worry of over-capacitance. Post-production professionals can use the GENpro Disaster Recovery System in virtually any video, animation/rendering and 2K/4K digital intermediate (DI) application.
GENpro is available in 2.5" portable hard drive models with 250GB, 320GB and 500GB storage capacities, as well as 3.5" hard drives that extend the capacities to 1TB and 2TB. Utilizing speedy "Plug-and-Go" technology, the drives integrate with Microsoft Windows, including Windows 7, to provide a complete disaster recovery solution. With the ability to recall a backup from a specific point-in-time, GENpro saves and stores a computer's programs, operating system and registry, by continually updating with no user intervention. The drive can recover applications and settings, allowing users to fully restore a PC to its previous setup. Thanks to Maxell's Neverfull technology, GENpro hard drives automatically groom off oldest data first, continually backing up the PC without ever running out of storage space.
A Legacy of Storage
Maxell's GENpro Disaster Recovery System highlights the company's roots in storage, dating back to 1969. The company's core history details a legacy of storage technology development and an industry-leading product spectrum, including tape, digital tape, and disk-based recording media. This technical knowledgebase allows Maxell to provide customers with an unbiased approach to the storage solutions most suited for their application.
"With a wide storage product offering, we provide current and potential customers with application-specific advice that suits a workspace or workflow," said Pat Byrne, senior marketing manager for Maxell. "Customers continue to trust our media expertise, as we direct them to the technology that works best for their application. This history has directly led to our standing today as an industry thought leader that develops technologies that advance the entire professional media category."
Playing a key role in the development of media technologies continues to allow Maxell to help customers drive down capacity costs. The GENpro Disaster Recovery System, which provides new technology for high volume data storage, is one example. Additionally, Maxell still provides leading tape-based media with a highly effective cost-per-gigabyte ratio. As these technologies take root, ancillary benefits continue to show, such as the reduced energy costs required to store data. LTO-5, for example, can help dramatically lower energy consumption, helping reduce storage costs by up to 10 times. Mimicking the functionality of an HDD (hard disc drive), LTO-5 can be accessed via PC, as it utilizes the same file structure/directory trees as HDD. Therefore, LTO-5 technology allows tape to replace HDDs, as LTO-5 provides a much smaller total cost of archival ownership.
The List prices on Maxell's GENpro Disaster Recovery System hard drives range in price from $119.99 to $299.99.
